Either – Neither

Either and Neither is always used when talking about two thing.

either means this one or the other one.

neither means not this one or the other one . It has a negative meaning

Verb is always singular.

  • Either candidate is ideal for the job.

  • Either solution is acceptable.

  • Either idea is good.

  • You can sit on either chair.

  • Neither answer is true.

  • Neither boy is my friend.

  • Neither television works properly.

Either and Neither can be used alone without a noun after.

  • We have two computers, but neither works properly.
  • I have two bicycles. I can lend you either.

  • There are two books here, but neither is mine.

  • Both shirts are good. You can buy either.
